Project Description
MFS provided sustainable design, construction management, equipment, and installation of a photovoltaic system for a private resident in Dorado, Puerto Rico. The construction consisted of the installation of a 40.95 KW-DC photovoltaic system capable of supplying 20% of the energetic demand. This system will provide solar energy as an alternative form of energy and thermal insulation for the structure, which in turn will save the owner on electricity bills.
MFS engineered a safe ballasted system in collaboration with racking system manufacturer. This ballasted system provided an alternative for wind uplift pressures minimizing the 80% of the roof attachments. MFS checked the adequacy of the roof structure to support the additional ballast superimposed load.
