The Microgrid System will use a combination of grid power and solar power during the day in normal operation. When there is a power outage, the microgrid will power all loads of the home primarily harvesting power from the sun and/or using the 37-kWh battery bank when necessary. If the battery bank reaches 20% of charge, the microgrid will automatically turn on the generator to power the house and charge the battery back simultaneously, until battery bank charge up to 80%, or grid power is available.

All excess solar power produced is exported to the grid, to increase savings on monthly bills from the utility grid company.
